An IMB-CNM TFG student wins the First Dresselhaus Prize of the SCN2

The Societat Catalana de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (SCN2) awards the first Dresselhaus Prize to María Jesús Ortiz i Aguayo, Chemistry graduate from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), with a work reviewed by Dr. Maria del Mar Baeza Labat (UAB) and Dr. Gemma Gabriel Buguña (IMB-CNM).

María Jesús Ortiz i Aguayo, Chemistry graduate from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), has been awarded the First Dresselhaus Prize, organised by the Societat Catalana de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (SCN2), in its 2020 edition. The award recognises the work "Development of a pH microsensor for the determination of Inkjet Printing-based hydrogen sulfide" ("Desenvolupament d’un microsensor de pH per la determinació d’àcid sulfhídric basat en Inkjet Printing"), supervised by Maria del Mar Baeza Labat (UAB) and Gemma Gabriel Buguña (IMB-CNM), at the Biomedical Applications Group. The student also did her TFG (end of degree dissertation) with Dr. Gemma Gabriel at the IMB-CNM.

The second edition of the SCN² Dresselhaus Prizes, that was called in September 2020 and took place during the third wave of COVID-19 in Catalonia, closed on 19th April 2021 with the publication of this year's three winners. There are only up to three paid awards and up to three mentions to works of great quality, according to the judges evaluation, this year there were no mentions. The prize recognises excellence in works of nanoscience.
