The IMB-CNM, present at the YoMo a festival to promote technologies among young people
The Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM-CSIC) will participate in the next edition of the "Youth Mobile Festival Barcelona" (YoMo), from February 27 to March 2, offering young people the opportunity to enter in a white room to make the chips that are on the mobile phones
The "Youth Mobile Festival Barcelona", which takes place at the Farga de Hospitalet exhibition center, aims to inspire young people and help them get to know the professional careers of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) sector. Targeted to young people aged 10 to 16, the YoMo is performed as part of the GSMA Mobile World Congress.
At the interactive stand of the IMB-CNM visitors can explore the basic components of mobile phones: chips. Young people will be able to see and play the silicon chips and wafers, discover the appearance of the phones once disassembled and know the microsensors that make them. You can also experiment with an electronic kit and the different chips features.
Another experience that visitors can visit at the stand of the Microelectronics Institute of Barcelona is to discover what the white rooms are, they can dress with their own clothes to enter and take a photograph with the background in natural size inside the room.
For the edition of this year the YoMo, which includes educational exhibitions, live performances, interactive workshops, conferences and a broad agenda of practical activities; It expects the attendance of more than 22 thousand adolescents and education personnel. Admission is free for school groups.
