FlexPrintLab: Flexible Printed Lab-on-a-Foil for personal PoC

Millions of people who suffer from different diseases use personal Point-of-Care (PoC) diagnostics systems daily to monitor glucose or cholesterol among others.

In FlexPrintLab, a novel disposable diagnostic platform will be developed by applying advanced Additive Manufacturing (AM) techniques and using disposable and flexible substrates to develop single-use and cheap electronic solutions. High-throughput AM techniques such as screen, gravure and inkjet printing will be used in order to demonstrate its industrial feasibility. The project will focus on the development of a flexible lab-on-a-foil solution based on printed electrochemical biosensors together with a Printed Electronics circuitry to develop a simplified cost-effective, disposable, autonomous and reliable PoC platform.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 801342 (Tecniospring INDUSTRY) and the Government of Catalonia's Agency for Business Competitiveness (ACCIÓ).
