UAB Best PhD Thesis Awards for Anton Guimerà and Núria Torras
The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona has awarded the prizes for Best Doctoral Thesis to Anton Guimerà (Engineering and Telecommunications) and Núria Torras (Engineering), for their thesis research carried out at IMB-CNM.
New autonomous microsensor is capable of detecting respiratory problems
Researchers from the UAB, the IMB CNM - CSIC and the UPC have developed a thermoelectric sensor based on silicon nanotechnology with the power to regenerate itself and detect respiratory problems such as sleep apnoea and pneumonia. To commercialise the sensor, the tech-based company FutureSiSens was created.

SiNERGY wons the Best poster award in the Industrial Technologies 2016 event
The SiNERGY project (Silicon friendly solutions for microenergy applications) won the best poster award in the Industrial Technologies 2016 event. This event, associated to the Netherlands Presidency of the Council of the European Union, has been the largest networking conference in the field of new production technologies, materials, nanotechnology, biotechnology and digitalization in Europe.
