El IMB-CNM, instituto del CSIC dedicado a la micro y nanoelectrónica, se incorpora a la red de centros acreditados como Unidad de Excelencia María de Maeztu, otorgado por la Agencia Estatal de Investigación, durante los próximos seis años.

Equipment and processes of the Metallization Area
The Metallization Area is the area where metal thin films of a variety of materials can be deposited by Physical Vapour Deposition techniques on either DC and DC/RF sputtering systems, or on thermal and e-beam evaporation systems.

El Área de Procesado de Metalización es la zona en la que se pueden depositar películas delgadas metálicas de diferentes materiales mediante técnicas de deposición física de vapor en sistemas de “sputtering” de CC y CC/RF, o bien en sistemas de evaporación térmica o con cañón de electrones.

The Instituto de Microelectrónica de Barcelona (IMB-CNM) takes part in Bepi-Colombo, the Europe's first mission to Mercury. The participation of the IMB-CNM, led by Philippe Godignon, a CSIC’s research professor, is focused on developing the protector diodes for the spacecraft’s solar panel.
